The WHO–WMO Climate and Health Science and Services Accelerator is a global initiative spearheaded by the WHO-WMO Climate and Health Joint Programme to scale up the co-production and use of climate services for health, ensuring they become permanent and integrated features of how health authorities and meteorological services work together.

Over recent months, the Accelerator has reached several important milestones. These include the launch of the South Asia Climate-Health Desk, strengthening heat‑health early warnings and health‑focused climate services, the establishment of the Africa Climate-Health Desk hosted by ACMAD to support continent‑wide heat and health preparedness, and the creation of the South Asia Hub of the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN) to enhance regional coordination, knowledge exchange, and advocacy on extreme heat.

Together, these launches mark tangible progress in building regional capacity and turning climate intelligence into practical health action.
