30th anniversary Mount Waliguan - Meeting with GAW China

The year of 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Waliguan Baseline Observatory, one of the oldest Global GAW station in the World.. This observatory has covered a phenomenal journey and made contributions to meteorological observation of China, and even the world at largWaliguan Mountain with the altitude of 3816 meters is well located to sample air representative of the global baseline, relevant to document variability and trends in atmospheric composition that are then used for forecasting future changes and impacts. Maintening operations at high elevation station for 30 years is challenging and China Meteorological Administration has made a significant contribution to better understanding the complex atmospheric environment.
