IG3IS related project/activities
- Advancement of Regional Observing Systems: Developed and implemented high-resolution observational frameworks for long-lived biogeochemical trace gases across India, optimizing the infrastructure necessary to capture spatiotemporal variations critical for both regional and national climate analysis.
- Expansion of the Indian Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Monitoring Network: Systematically expanded and sustained a multi-site GHG monitoring network, providing precise, continuous data on greenhouse gas concentrations and fluxes across varied ecosystems and climatic regions. This network facilitates calibration of atmospheric transport models and regional carbon budgets.
- Quantitative Analysis of Biogeochemical-Climate Feedbacks: Detailed quantification of the interactions between biogeochemical cycles (e.g., carbon, nitrogen cycles) and the physical climate system, enhancing predictive capabilities for climate models. This research integrates trace gas observations with physical climate parameters to improve understanding of biogeochemical feedback mechanisms on climate dynamics.
