WMO AI Webinars are organized to share good national practices of AI development with WMO Members.
The fourth WMO AI Webinar will showcase how artificial intelligence is advancing climate services for the energy sector across South America through energy services developed by the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) and supported by the ENANDES and ENANDES+ projects. The webinar will feature innovative AI-based applications contributing to climate-resilient energy transitions, including AI-based estimation of evaporation rates for floating solar panels (Chile), AI-based correction of solar radiation forecasts from numerical weather prediction models (Argentina), and AI-based downscaling of climate projections for the development of national renewable energy atlases (WMO). The webinar highlights the growing role of AI in strengthening weather and climate services for renewable energy planning and decision-making across the region.
For more detailed information, please visit the WMO AI Webinars page, where you can find the presentations abstract of the fourth webinar.
It is also planned to share the presentation materials and recordings after the webinar through this page.
