Celebration of 100 Years of Ozone Measurements at Arosa/Davos in Switzerland: The scientific symposium marks a historic milestone: the centenary of the world's longest continuous total ozone measurement record, which began in Arosa in 1926 with Paul Götz and Gordon Dobson installing the first instrument in Switzerland. This remarkable ground-based dataset has been fundamental to our understanding of atmospheric ozone and its stratospheric change. WMO's Global Atmosphere Watch Programme coordinates total ozone column observations around the globe, and implements projects funded by the General Trust Fund  for Financing Activities on Research and Systematic Observations Relevant to  the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer to maintain and expand the total ozone column monitoring network.
