Through the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, Bangladesh is strengthening its multi-hazard early warning system by developing a national roadmap, from strengthening observation and forecasting systems to putting anticipatory actions into motion, centreing on communities, and advancing new technologies and partnerships to make alerts more inclusive and effective.

Bangladesh’s progress reflects a whole-of-system approach that brings together national leadership, technical agencies, regional partners, and communities to ensure warnings lead to early action. By strengthening governance frameworks, scaling up mobile alerting and emergency telecommunications, advancing inclusive design, and reinforcing community-based preparedness, the country is closing gaps across all four pillars of early warning systems. These efforts are already translating forecasts into timely, coordinated action for cyclones, floods, heatwaves, and other hazards, demonstrating how inclusive, end-to-end early warning systems can protect lives and livelihoods and deliver on the promise of Early Warnings for All.
