Meteorological services played its role in Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games - China Meteorological Administration

On February 20, Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games (hereafter referred to as Beijing 2022) had come to a splendid end. In terms of the meteorological service, this dazzling and successful event is intertwined with cutting-edge technologies and wisdom of the people. In particular, meteorological services have played an instrumental role to safeguard the smooth operation of Beijing 2022. Since the opening of this event, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has mobilized meteorological services to support the smooth and safe operation of all events. National-level meteorological departments and relevant provincial departments have carried out high frequency joint coordination. In every ice and snow events, meteorological departments have conducted close-knitted cooperation with the host of the event, International Ski Federation (ISF), operational and maintenance teams. In key technological R & D, they have carried out open collaboration with scientific research institutes, institutions of higher education, related skiing industrial enterprises, and explored news frontiers in snow use support, and high accuracy meteorological prediction.
