Hydro-meteorological hazards are increasing in frequency and intensity. Vulnerable populations face disproportionate impacts due to limited access to timely and actionable early warnings. While advances in science and technology have improved forecasting accuracy and risk assessment, gaps remain in translating data into operational, impact‑based preparedness and decision‑making, strengthening national and regional collaboration, and ensuring inclusive last-mile communication.

This side event will highlight operational innovations that enhance early warning systems and hydro-meteorological services while protecting essential services. Through real-world country experiences, the session will demonstrate how science, digital tools, and cross-border cooperation can improve preparedness, reduce disaster losses, and strengthen resilience. This is a Side Event of the 11th Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event Concept Note and Agenda will be available soon.
