The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is pleased to announce that the Proceedings of the eighth session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025) are now available in the six official languages of the United Nations.
In addition to the Proceedings, other key documents — including the Compendium of Best Practices and Success Stories and the GP2025 Participant Survey Results — are now available online. Together, these publications capture the substance, achievements, and collective momentum of GP2025 in advancing the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
GP2025 Proceedings
The GP2025 Proceedings provides a comprehensive overview of the discussions and session outcome from the preparatory days, official and informal programme. It captures and distils diverse insights and practical examples that take stock of the progress made since the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework and offers regional, national, local, and sectoral perspectives in accelerating disaster risk reduction. It also includes the Co-Chairs' Summary, the Geneva Call for Disaster Risk Reduction, which sets forth a clear and action-oriented roadmap to accelerate the implementation of the Sendai Framework over the next five years.
The Compendium of Best Practices and Success Stories
Accompanying the Proceedings, the Compendium of Best Practices and Success Stories presents initiatives that have been implemented or scaled up since 2023. These examples demonstrate innovative and inclusive approaches to reducing disaster risk, highlighting the continued momentum following the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework. The Compendium seeks to inform, inspire, and promote peer learning, reinforcing the global community’s shared commitment to accelerate risk reduction and ensure that no one is left behind.
The GP2025 Participant Survey
The GP2025 Participant Survey, conducted in all six UN languages, offers evaluations on overall satisfaction and audience, objectives and professional relevance, interactivity and innovation, communications, logistics and venue, accessibility and sustainability. It also identifies key areas for improvement based on participants’ feedback and provides suggestions to consider when organizing future Global Platforms.
