September 2024 was warmer than normal in temperatures with below-average relative humidities and wind speed.

The mean temperature of the month was 34.4°C which is 1.2°C above the long-term normal for September and this goes on record as the fifth highest mean temperature for September since 1902. This is the same as in September 2019. Note that the highest mean monthly temperature for September was 34.8°C recorded in 2020.
The mean maximum temperature of the month was 38.5°C which is 0.8°C above long-term normal and this goes on record as the seventh highest mean maximum temperature for September since 1946. This is the same as in September 2022, 2007 and 1998. Note that the highest mean monthly maximum temperature for September was 39.8°C recorded in 2020.
During the month Bahrain had 5 days with maximum temperature exceeding 40°C. The highest temperature recorded during the month was 42.8°C which occurred on the 10th September at Bahrain International Airport. Note that the highest temperature recorded for September at Bahrain International Airport was 45.5°C which occurred on 4th September 2013.
The highest temperature recorded in the month at Durrat Al Bahrain was 44.8°C recorded on the 10th September and on the same day it was recorded 44.5°C at the University of Bahrain.
The mean minimum temperature of the month was 31.4°C which is 1.9°C above the long-term normal and this goes on record as the third highest mean minimum temperature for September since 1946. This is the same as in September 2018. Note that the highest mean monthly minimum temperature for September was 31.7°C recorded in 2023.
The lowest temperature recorded was 29.3°C on 28th September at Bahrain International Airport but was recorded 25.0°C on the same night at the University of Bahrain.
The mean relative humidity for September was 56% whereas the mean maximum relative humidity was 74% and the mean minimum relative humidity was 35%. The maximum relative humidity was 85% recorded on the 24th September and the minimum relative humidity was 12% recorded on the 15th September.
