Victoria Alexeeva
Dr Victoria Alexeeva has more than 20 years of working experience in international organizations and national institutions on sustainable development and economic policy issues.
In 2021, she took the position of the Economic and Societal Impacts Officer at the Cabinet Office of the Secretary-General, World Meteorological Organization (WMO), to advance socioeconomic assessments of weather, climate, and water services. Victoria coordinates WMO Panel on Socioeconomic Benefits (PSB).
Prior to joing the WMO, she established and lead the area of macroeconomic impact assessment of energy investments at the IAEA’s Planning and Economic Studies Section (PESS) where she delivered advisory services to 30+ countries. She also served in advisory capacity to the European Commission in the field of climate change policy, in particular on the decarbonization roadmap, emissions trading scheme, carbon pricing, carbon leakage and industrial competitiveness.
Victoria holds a MSc and a PhD in Economics from the Humboldt University and the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg (Germany). She published broadly in the field of energy and climate change economics.
