Increasing Capacity
Capacity and Needs Assessments (CNAs)
Capacity and Needs Assessments (CNAs) assess institutional, human and technical capacities, gaps and needs of National Meteorological and Hydrological Services, hydrological forecasting institutions, water resources management bodies and Basin Organizations at national and regional levels, and are used to develop Roadmaps for improved service delivery.
Face-to-face and Distance Learning Trainings
Face-to-face and Distance Learning Trainings address specific technical expertise deficits, especially those identified at the regional level.
Learning Exchanges
Learning Exchanges are carried out among two or more National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in view of addressing specific hydrometric challenges.
Data Management and Sharing support activities
Data Management and Sharing support activities are intended to equip National Meteorological and Hydrological Services with appropriate data management and sharing tools as well as foster the development of data-sharing agreements at national and international scales.
Reviewing and updating WMO Regulatory material
Reviewing and updating WMO Regulatory and Guidance material ensures that it better reflects the realities of hydrometry on the ground, user requirements and implementable technologies.
World Hydrological Cycle Observing System (WHYCOS)
The World Hydrological Cycle Observing System (WHYCOS) aims to strengthen national capacities in basic observation, foster basin-wide, regional and international cooperation and promote the free exchange of hydrological data.
