Recalling the JCB Terms of Reference, this group will advise WMO commissions and IOC bodies on programme co-design, and governance of ocean observing networks. Under the authority of the Joint Collaborative Board, the ocean basic observing networks subgroup will: Provide advice on the development, design, and implementation of the WMO/WIGOS Global Basic Observing Network (GBON) for the ocean domain as a part of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS), driven by WMO application areas in weather and climate.
