WIS 2.0 Champions Training Preparation Meeting

8-12 December 2025, WMO HQ, Geneva

Introduction

WMO has recently concluded the selection process for the WMO Information System 2.0 (WIS2) Champions, following a global call for nominations and interviews. The selected Champions will play a key role in supporting Members with the implementation of WIS 2.0 at the regional and national levels.
In preparation for their upcoming training and engagement, the WMO Secretariat is organizing a preparation meeting in Geneva to develop the structure, content, and modalities of the WIS2 Champions Training Programme. 

The purpose of the meeting will be to 

  • Agree on the scope, structure, and content of the training;
  • Develop and prepare the necessary training materials;
  • Define responsibilities for preparation and delivery;
  • Ensure alignment with the WIS2 Implementation Plan and regional priorities.
