Other EU Institutions, Agencies and bodies

The WMO Brussels office also liaises with other EU institutions, agencies and bodies such as:

  • the European External Action Service (EEAS,
  • the diplomatic service and combined foreign and defence ministry of the European Union),
  • the European Committee of the Regions (CoR,  the European Union's assembly of local and regional representatives),
  • the European Environment Agency (EEA),
  • the European Defence Agency (EDA),
  • the European Union Satellite Centre (EUSC),
  • the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC, a consultative body of the European Union composed of "social partners"),
  • the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA),
  • the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), and
  • the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Regular contacts are also maintained with relevant non-EU bodies based in town and with the UN system organisations through the UN Brussels Team (UNBT).

The EU Affairs office is kindly hosted in the Brussels premises of the European Space Agency.
