Different Energies, Different Climate Questions: Rethinking Energy Meteorology from Research to Services

 This session will explore how different energy technologies pose distinct climate and meteorological questions, particularly in terms of temporal and spatial resolution requirements, uncertainty characteristics, and decision contexts. 

 Experts from the SG-RENE community will share perspectives on wind, solar, hydropower, and electricity systems, highlighting why a “one-size-fits-all” approach to energy meteorology is insufficient. 

 Additionally, the session will discuss how energy-meteorological research is translated into operational and planning-relevant information for various energy users. 

 The discussion will focus on user needs, service design, and communication challenges at the science–practice interface, illustrating how climate information is applied across various energy sectors.
