Paul Counet
Paul Counet became EUMETSAT’s Head of Strategy, Communication and International Relations and Chef de Cabinet of the Director-General of EUMETSAT on 1 July 2016. He supports the Director-General in developing and enacting the organisation’s strategy, plans and implements activities with international partners. His responsibility also ensures that EUMETSAT’s goals and achievements are communicated internally and externally.
The EUMETSAT strategy provides the long-term direction and scope of the activities to be implemented at EUMETSAT, taking into account the rapid evolution of the organisation’s environment, including with emergence of the private sector. Its implementation is continuously monitored and the strategy itself is updated every 5 years.
Paul joined EUMETSAT in 1998, bringing valuable experience from previous positions at the European Commission, the United Nations and the World Bank and in the private sector.
