Virginie Schwarz
Virginie Schwarz has been the President and CEO of Météo France, the French national meteorological service, since September 2019.
An engineer by training, she has dedicated her career to public service and specialised in public policies in the areas of energy and environment, notably climate change.
She previously served as Director of Energy at the French Ministry of Environment, in charge of national policies and regulations related to energy, and held various positions including that of Deputy Director General, in ADEME, the French public agency in charge of ecological transition. Virginie also worked in New York for the "United Nations Development Program" (UNDP) as senior advisor on climate change mitigation.
