Joachim Schug

Mr. Joachim Schug is Senior Meteorologist and Head of House of DTN Switzerland. In this role, Joachim is responsible for a team of highly trained meteorologists specialized in severe weather warnings. These weather risk communicators have deep expertise in the impact of weather on their customers in the transport and events sectors. He also initiated and participated in the design of the in-house network of automatic weather stations in Switzerland and Germany.

He has more than 30 years of experience in operational forecasting and now also provides both internal and external training.

He holds a Master of Science in Meteorology and Geophysics from University of Innsbruck, Austria, and during his studies participated in Alpine Experiment (ALPEX) and in an overwintering in Antarctica
