Ardhasena Sopaheluwakan

Ardhasena Sopaheluwakan is one of the vice-presidents of the WMO Commission for Weather, Climate, Hydrological, Marine and Related Environmental Services and Applications (SERCOM). He is the Deputy Head for Climatology in the Agency for Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) of Indonesia, an applied mathematician as his background, a modeling and simulation specialist. He led the advancement of climate services in Indonesia and is responsible for the provision of comprehensive services including climate analysis and prediction, various applied sectoral applications supporting climate adaptation and mitigation, and as well as air quality and greenhouse gases monitoring systems in BMKG. He has served in a variety of international and WMO bodies, primarily through the Commission for Climatology and continuing to SERCOM. He has a strong passion for delivering impactful weather, water, and climate services that benefit the society.
