The weather in Germany in August 2019 - Deutscher Wetterdienst

After the extremely hot temperatures at the end of July, the first two decades of August were much more pleasant. Dry and very warm periods frequently alternated with wet and cooler ones, whereas the last decade of the month brought a return to widespread summery heat. Consequently, following on from June and July, the third summer month also saw temperatures and sunshine that were significantly higher than the long-term mean, while precipi-tation was much too low. This is what the initial analysis by the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) of data from its around 2,000 weather stations shows.
