Ali Price

Seconded to the GCOS programme from the UK Met Office, Ali provides observing system technical expertise and support. Ali's primary focus is the network management of the GCOS Surface Network (GSN) and GCOS Upper-Air Network (GUAN), working with the GCOS Lead Centres and supporting the implementation of the GCOS Reference Upper-Air Network (GRUAN) and the GCOS Surface Refence Network (GSRN). In addition, Ali provides technical support for the Atmospheric Observing Panel on Climate (AOPC) and is the climate monitoring representative on relevant WMO expert teams.

Prior to his secondment to GCOS/WMO, Ali has had a varied career in the UK Met Office. This has ranged from being the Surface Observations Network Manager for several years to working with WMO and other international organisations via SOFF and other stakeholder management roles, having originally started off as a forecast meteorologist.
