Extreme drought for May in the Czech Republic - Czech Hydrometeorological Institute

Low snow in low and middle altitudes and well below average precipitation resulted in drought condition appearing as soon as in the early May in the Czech Republic, while normally such conditions are typical for July or August. Significant number of water gauges reports lowest flows on record for this time of the year. Significant drought (defined as lowest 15 % of observations for given period of the year) has been observed at 62 % of all monitored objects.
