Meeting of the Standing Committee on Hydrological Services (SC-HYD)

The Standing Committee on Hydrological Services (SC-HYD), composed of technical experts, including the Chair (Dr Yuri Simonov) and Vice-Chairs (Eng. Marcelo Uriburu Quirno and Ms Milica Djordjevic) leads WMO activities related to operational hydrology services and water resources management.      The SC-HYD workplan comprises 36 milestones, in coordination with the Hydrology and Cryosphere activities of WMO. In 2025, seven milestones were placed on hold and three were reduced in scope.      Following the conclusion of the fourth ordinary session of the Commission for Weather, Climate, Hydrological, Marine and Related Environmental Services and Applications (SERCOM-4), the primary objectives of the three-day meeting will be to:    • review the status and progress of the SC-HYD milestones;   • follow-up on the outcomes and decisions of SERCOM - 4 and their impact on the SC-HYD milestones; and    • revise and align the SC-HYD Workplan with the decisions of SERCOM-4.
