The WMO 9th Workshop on the Impact of Observing Systems on Numerical Weather and Earth System Predictions and Implications for Observing System Design and Evolution takes place 27–30 September 2027 at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. It brings together the observation impact, modelling, and observing-system communities to assess how satellites, in-situ networks, and emerging sources like IoT and citizen science contribute to weather and Earth-system prediction, and to shape recommendations for the future design and evolution of observing systems, including the growing role of AI.
