Farzana Faruk Jhumu
Ms. Farzana Faruk Jhumu (Bangladesh) is a climate justice activist and co-founder of Kaathpencil, an initiative working to ensure children’s rights and gender equality, and to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis. Farzana is currently working as a program trainer with the People’s Climate Diplomacy Program, a youth-led initiative that equips young climate advocates with the tools, training, and support to engage meaningfully in global climate negotiations. Farzana has worked with Fridays for Future and coordinates actively with Fridays for Future MAPA (Most Affected People and Areas). Farzana has a substantial engagement with major UN processes, including attending multiple climate conferences to advocate for issues like fossil fuel phase-out and just transition. She also follows negotiations on plastic pollution and the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), demonstrating a broad commitment to interconnected global challenges.
