The Weather in Germany in summer 2019 - Deutscher Wetterdienst

During the summer of 2019, Germany was often under the influence of high-pressure areas. At times, the weather was pleasant, at others there were striking incursions of very hot air with new, impressive record temperatures. Low-pressure systems and their extensions brought severe thunderstorms with gale-force wind and hail to some regions while precipitation was mostly sparse. All the summer months were significantly too warm with an excess of sunshine and too little rainfall. This is what the initial analysis by the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) of data from its around 2,000 weather stations shows.
