INFCOM-3
The third session of the Commission for Observation, Infrastructure, and Information Systems, INFCOM-3, will convene in Geneva, Switzerland, from 15 to 19 April 2024, offering in-person and online participation options. This gathering will unite global technical experts to develop standards for methods, procedures, techniques, and practices, ensuring recommendations are provided to the WMO Congress and Executive Council.
Like SERCOM-3, which supports Services worldwide, INFCOM-3 focuses on Infrastructure components. Among the highlights are discussions on flagship initiatives such as Early Warnings for All and Global Greenhouse Gas Watch on Monday, 15 April 2024, followed by dedicated talks on WIGOS, WIPPS, and WIS. Topics of high interest include defining core satellite data, the implementation of WIS 2.0 and enhancing modeling products to support operational services and research activities.
