Call for Abstracts: WWRP 2027 Conference

The World Weather Research Programme (WWRP) has opened the call for abstracts for the WWRP 2027 Conference, taking place from 23 to 25 August 2027 at Nanjing University, China.

Under the theme “Advancing Weather Science for Resilient Societies,” the conference will bring together researchers, operational experts and practitioners working across the forecast value cycle. Abstracts are welcomed on observations of physical and societal systems, weather prediction and predictability, and societal preparedness.

The conference particularly encourages submissions from early-career scientists and professionals, researchers and practitioners from developing and least-developed countries, and interdisciplinary teams connecting science, operations and society.

Abstracts must be submitted in English, should not exceed 300 words and must clearly describe the objectives, methods, findings or expected outcomes, and relevance to the following conference themes:

  1. Observations: Physical and Societal Systems
  2. Weather Prediction and Predictability
  3. Societal Preparedness (including impact-based warnings)

The submission deadline is 31 December 2026.
