On 23 March 2024, World Meteorological Day, hundreds of thousands of visitors of all ages and backgrounds flocked to the expansive meteorological complex in Beijing, known as China MetTown, for a grand community carnival.

Nigeria joined the rest of the Global Community and World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) to celebrate the 2024 World Meteorological Day with a special event held at the Nigerian Meteorological Agency’s (NiMet's) headquarters in Abuja on 21 March 2024.

TMD commemorated World Meteorological Day 2024 through different creative ways such as launching the WMO videos and materials, hosting technical seminars and panel discussions, games for students, exhibitions on weather and climate services, meteorological instruments shows, speaking and singing contests concerning meteorology and environment.
