Customized CST

The Climate Services Toolkit (CST) can be customized with sector-specific information to fit national and sub-national needs and requirements to support the implementation of the Climate Services Information System (CSIS).

CST for Bhutan

WMO, with support from the National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM) Bhutan and the Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES), has successfully completed the implementation of a project aiming at strengthening the capacity of NCHM to provide climate services and support climate-sensitive sectors in Bhutan.

The project deployed a customized Climate Services Toolkit web platform for Bhutan.

The platform provides customized climate information and data for Bhutan at the national and sub-national level through an easily accessible web platform that is capable of being linked to sector-specific decision support systems. The focus sectors are agriculture, water and health.

The deployment of this customized CST is a major milestone for WMO as it is the first such instance where it has become operational. The experience gained from Bhutan will pave the way for future implementations of CST across the globe and help Members to deliver climate information effectively to its users.
