Overview
The Joint Meeting of the Research Board (RB) and the Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the two bodies. The meeting focused on advancing SAP Recommendations to the 19th Session of the WMO Congress (Resolution 35 (Cg-19)) and on developing new forward-looking recommendations to the 20th Session of Congress (Cg-20) in 2027 (Decision 10 (EC-78)).
Summary of Key Outcomes
- RB will establish a task team to advance SAP Recommendation #6 – Integration of Geophysical and Social Science; and
- RB will discuss next steps to advance a concept note on SAP Recommendation #3 – Develop a Digital Strategy, recognizing this topic extends beyond the RB.
