RA VI Working Group on Services and Applications Meeting -Highlights
The WMO RA VI Working Group on Services and Applications met on 27 May 2026 to review progress and advance its priorities for 2026–2027, with a focus on strengthening integrated, user-oriented weather, climate, hydrological and related environmental services across the Region.
The meeting discussed the continued development of the RA VI Regional Climate Centre Network, including preparations for the proposed resolution on RCC Network operations and the streamlining of regional climate reporting through the European State of the Climate.
Progress was also reviewed on regional drought monitoring and agrometeorological services, including a survey of national capabilities and service requirements.
The Group further advanced initiatives to improve access to climate data and resources, including the Services and Applications Training and Resource Toolkit and the RA VI Data Access Dashboard.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for RA VI-19 (II), including reporting on the Group’s activities and achievements. Members reaffirmed the importance of operational relevance, cooperation and avoiding duplication as they shape the Group’s 2026–2027 work programme.
The Group’s next meeting is planned for 26 August 2026 in the afternoon and will focus on reviewing and refining the 2026–2027 work programme, taking into account the outputs of EC-80 as well as preparations for RA VI-19 (II) and SERCOM-4. Members will also follow up on key ongoing activities and consolidate the Group’s contributions and reporting for RA VI-19.
