The Preliminary 2026 edition of the Guide to Instruments and Methods of Observation (WMO-No. 8) (Volumes I, II, III, V and VI) is now available for review by WMO Members.

The updated and new chapters have been developed through the collaborative efforts of the relevant expert teams and groups, under the coordination of the INFCOM Standing Committee on Measurements, Instrumentation and Traceability (SC-MINT) and its Editorial Board.  

WMO Members are invited to review the draft documents and provide comments and suggestions to support the preparation of the Provisional  2026 edition of the Guide to Instruments and Methods of Observation (WMO-No. 8).
