Regional State of the Climate 2025: Datasets and Methods

The Datasets and Methods supplement provides an overview of the scientific datasets, approaches and processes used to develop the State of the Climate reports. It explains where the data comes from, how climate indicators and extreme events are assessed, and the methodologies used by authors and contributing institutions across the regions. 

By making the science behind the reports more transparent and accessible, this document aims to help users better understand how observations are transformed into climate insights and statements.
