United Nations 2023 Water Conference

The UN 2023 Water Conference takes place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 22 to 24 March 2023 and aims to mobilize water action and create the political momentum needed to achieve SDG 6 and other water related goals and targets.

The first UN water conference in a generation, the UN 2023 Water Conference, co-hosted by the Governments of Tajikistan and the Netherlands will be a watershed moment to mobilize Member States, the UN system and stakeholders alike to take action and bring successful solutions to a global scale. To catalyse action, the Conference is seeking voluntary commitments, galvanized by the Programme, to the Water Action Agenda.

WMO is present at the UN 2023 Water Conference and will hold side-evants. WMO is advocating its mandate and activities related to water, as well as foster and establish strategic partnerships with Governments, UN, private sector, academia, IFIs, NGOs, CSOs and other partners.

The UN 2023 Water Conference in March must result in a bold Water Action Agenda that gives our world's lifeblood the commitment it deserves.
