Louise Croneborg-Jones

Louise runs Water in Sight Ltd, a venture into using computing technologies to digitize and streamline overlooked water and weather observation data at scale in Africa. Her journey into hydromet started in 2009 at the World Bank, where she led and was part of large financing for water management and infrastructures, and climate information for adaptation and disaster management. Early on, Louise became curious of how innovation and mobile communication could resolve stubborn operational and forecasting challenges facing NHMSs. Since 2021,  her team runs operations in Malawi and Mozambique in close partnership with the governments, donors and tech suppliers – together uncovering new observation data and analytical opportunities. Louise brings unique public-private insights on the role of innovation from her work at the World Bank, consultancies such as Pegasys and Sweco, and humanitarian work for Oxfam. She holds an Executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and an MSc in International Development from University of London, SOAS.
