Prof. Libo Wu

Dr. Libo Wu, a full professor at the School of Economics and the School of Data Science at Fudan University, the president of Shanghai Academy of AI for Science, the vice dean of Shanghai Innovation Institute, and the president of Shanghai Association for Social Application of Big Data. She received the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund in 2019 and was named a Young Yangtze River Scholar of the Ministry of Education in 2017.

Dr. Wu’s main research areas focus on risk management and policy decision-making in energy, electricity, and climate systems, computational social science and multi-agent modeling of complex systems, as well as statistical analysis of big data for social applications. She has published nearly 100 papers in prominent academic journals, including Nature Sustainability, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA), Nature Climate Change, Economic Research Journal (in Chinese), Social Sciences in China (in Chinese), as well as six academic monographs. In the past three years, she has been consistently selected as a highly cited scholar by Elsevier in theoretical economics and public administration.

Dr. Wu has received multiple awards, including the First Prize for the Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences Research from the Ministry of Education and the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the State Grid Corporation of China. She served as a Lead Author for Working Group III of the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and as the Chief Author of the "Special Report on Data Sets" in Fourth National Assessment Report on Climate Change of China, as well as the chief author of the "Advances in AI-driven Climate Change Research" in China's Fifth Assessment Report.
