Second Meeting of the TT-GSRN

From 25 to 29 September 2023 the second session of the GSRN Task Team meeting, took place in Torino Italy, hosted by INRiM, the Italian National Institute for Metrology. The meeting was organized in conjunction with the “4th Metrology for Meteorology and Climate” conference, allowing a wider interaction with the metrology and climate research communities. This second meeting of TT GSRN was the first after the nomination of the Lead Center, thus moving to an operational phase, with significant advances in almost all key aspects and documents of the pilot phase of GSRN, including the evaluation of the preliminary candidate stations. A special plenary session on GSRN and climatological reference stations was organized within the MMC sessions, allowing to increase the outreach of the reference measurement principles. Cultural and scientific visits were organized by INRiM together with a public event for the launch of the new station and laboratories of the future Italian GSRN station and Measurement Lead Center facilities.
